My Darling Burton,
I cannot believe you are three years old today!
I know I say it as every year passes, but I honestly cannot believe where the time has gone and that my first born is another year older.
These last 12 months have seen many changes in you. You can now talk (a LOT) and to think that up until last September you could only utter a handful of words and now I cannot shut you up! You are always singing nursery rhymes too which makes me smile.
You are very strong, independent, resourceful and bright and even though you have massive tantrums at times, you are amazing and you bring such joy into mine and the rest of your family's lives. You are funny and entertaining and so full of life.
You love learning new things and ask a lot of questions about anything and everything. You have so much energy and passion. You enjoy swimming, riding your bike, bouncing on the trampoline and going to the park and being a little daredevil. You also like helping me to make cakes and pizzas - even though if you don't always eat the finished result!
You really like going to Ladybirds now even though it took a while for you to settle in, and I will miss you when you go for a few more hours in a couple of months.
You have become a lovely older brother to Jenson and ok so I know there are times when you are a little mean to him, but on the whole you are patient, thoughtful, caring and loving towards him. It makes me so proud of you, the way you have accepted Jenson and put up with him (most of the time) wrecking your puzzles and games. When I see you play together it make me the happiest Mummy, seeing my two favourite boys getting along so nicely.
As I do each year as you celebrate your birthday, here are a selection of photographs of you from the last year.
I love you Burton, more than you will ever know. I am proud to be your mummy and you make me so happy.
You are an amazing and wonderful little boy. When you smile and hug and kiss me, and tell me you love me, well I couldn't ask for anything else really.
We are very lucky to have you in our lives.
